Caraway (Carum Carvi)
| This is a biennial herb, which means the seeds of this herb matures the second year, around the middle of summer. Height ranges from 1½ to 2 feet, and it should be planted in full sun. The foliage of this herb is similar to carrot tops and produces white flowers. The seeds should be cut when they turn brown before they scatter. Caraway seeds add zest and flavor to vegetables when baked or cooked, such as cabbage, sauerkraut, carrots, potatoes and onions baked, soups, and many other dishes. |
