Sweet Basil (Ocimum Basilicum)

This is an annual herb which grows from 2 to 3 feet in height, and is propagated from seeds. It is best grown in full sun, with rich soil. The scent of Basil leaves is similar to cloves. Basil is widely used in all types of dishes, such as shrimp, broiled fish, stew, hash, meat loaf, tomatoes, eggs, beans, cheese, and in appetizers.
